The audio note tool is hidden under the regular note tool. To find it,
click on the notes icon, and choose it from the pop-up menu. The keyboard
shortcut key for these tools, N, is shown. With the notes tool, you can add text notes that look like Post-Its to your images. Clicking on an image with the notes tool will create a note into which you can type whatever you want. A larger text box can be made by dragging after clicking. Text options are available on the tool's options bar. Once the note has been written, you can collapse it by clicking on the small icon in the top right corner of the note. A notes icon will appear on the image where it was created. By double clicking the icon, other users can read your note. In addition to text notes, you can add audio notes to an image if you have a microphone attached to your computer. An audio note icon will then appear on the image, and the message can be played by double-clicking the icon. Note icons can be hidden by choosing View > Show > Notes and deselecting it. All notes on an image can be removed by clicking Clear All in the options bar when the notes tool is selected.

The first illustration, below, is the options bar for the text notes tool. The registered owner of the copy of Photoshop you are using will automatically appear in the Author box. You can change it. The box titled Size offers options of Smallest, Smaller, Medium, Larger, and Largest. The button, Clear All will remove all notes from the active image. Below the text note's options bar, is a larger scale illustration of the audio notes options bar.

Shown first, below is an example of a note attached to a very small image. Note that the tiny button in the upper right corner is what you click to collapse the note. When collapsed, the note will appear as an icon on the image, as shown on the right. The middle row of illustrations, below shows the two dialog boxes you will see when you click in an image with the audio note tool. Click Start in the first box, and you will then see the second, Stop box. The last illustration shows the audio note icon attached to an image. Double clicking this will play back the audio note. |
