Sharpeningpage fourHere, I have set the Radius value at 26 pixels. This means that 26 pixels around each edge were affected by the 450 percent sharpening effect. The way the unsharp mask sharpens, by making the dark pixels darker and the light pixels lighter, is demonstrated here. Actually, the Unsharp Mask procedure is more complicated than that, but that's part of what it does. In reality, it involves a mask, a duplicate image which you never see, and a Gaussian Blur. |
