Quick Maskpage oneThere are many ways to make selections in Photoshop. I do ninety percent of mine with the regular lasso tool and Quick mask. You should experiment with the other features, but I have never had any success with the Magic Wand and find the magnetic lasso tool annoying. If you have a part of your object that has a straight edge, the polygon lasso can be useful. To access it when using the regular lasso, while still holding down the mouse button, press Alt. Release the button (but keep holding down Alt) and click on the corners of your selection. To switch back to the regular lasso, press the mouse button, release Alt and drag (with mouse button still pressed). |

around the bananas which can then be turned into a mask with Quick
mask. This is my favorite way of creating a precise selection. I can't
do it with just the selection tools. Don't even mention the Pen
tool to me. See selected bananas next |
